DUO Spearhead Ryuki 50MDSP is a compact, Japanese-made suspending mid-diver minnow. The official MDSP designation means Medium Deep Suspending: it runs deeper than the standard 50SP and stays at, or very close to, the selected layer during a pause. Developed primarily for trout in small and medium rivers, it is also effective for perch and chub.

Key features. During the cast, an internal ball weight moves towards the tail, helping the compact 3.4 g lure fly with greater stability and accuracy. After splashdown, the weight returns to its working position and locks against a magnet. This restores precise balance, gives the lure a fast action start-up and maintains stable tracking in current.

Action and application. Ryuki 50MDSP responds instantly to short rod movements, making repeated rhythmic twitches easy even in confined water. Pause after several twitches and the lure remains in the strike zone, giving a cautious fish more time to commit. It also works with a steady retrieve, an across-current presentation or a controlled drift. Its approximate 0.6–1.0 m running depth suits current seams, pockets behind rocks, deeper runs and lake margins.
